Aviation isn't just my profession. It's in my DNA.
Aviation runs in my family, pilots and flight attendants among them. I grew up on airports, and kerosene has essentially flowed through my veins since childhood. That personal connection to the industry brings a passion to everything I do that goes well beyond professional expertise.
In 1989, I joined INFORM - Institute for Operations Research and Management GmbH and spent the next 36 years building the company's Aviation Division from a single airport project into a leading global provider of resource management optimization solutions for aviation ground handling. We grew into the most comprehensive solution provider in the space worldwide, with systems used by airlines, airports, and ground handling organizations across every major region. That journey gave me something genuinely rare: deep operational knowledge of how ground handling actually works, combined with an equally deep understanding of how the software that runs it is built, sold, and implemented.
The pattern I kept seeing, decade after decade, across countless operations, is that the gap between what a digital system or transformation initiative promises and what it actually delivers in practice is one of the most persistent and costly challenges in the industry. Understanding why that gap opens, and how to close it, became the foundation for USS AviationConsulting.
